Our Moment In Time

Moved, Again.

Posted by: jsasnm on: November 8, 2008

After being away from blogging for so long, I couldn’t, for the life of me, remember which blogging site that I liked best. I remember that I had tried out wordpress, blogger, and blog.com. And after I put this whole site together, I had forgotten that you can’t change the background without having to pay money, and I didn’t see why I should have to pay $$$ when other blogging sites allow you to do it for free.

So needless to say, after trying blogger one more time (and actually figuring out how to use the site) I have moved my blog over there.

I’ve moved all my posts from here, over there, so please feel free to bookmark me over there so you won’t forget the address.

Thankful Thursday: Take 2

Posted by: jsasnm on: November 6, 2008

This past week, has been a long one, that’s for sure. We’ve been busy, as well as we’ve felt a bit rushed. Our lease comes up on the 15th of this month and we’d like to move more in town to where we don’t have to drive 30 minutes to get anywhere. So here is this week’s Thankful Thursday.

If you’d like to view more Thankful Thursday’s, please click HERE.

Thankful Thursday

  • I am thankful for Hubz working as hard as he does, without complaint.
  • I am thankful that Halloween was a success and that we were able to have Punkin and take her trick-or-treating.
  • I am thankful for my new pup, Harlee, he makes me smile. :)
  • I am thankful for Harlee settling in so quickly to our house and our schedule.
  • I am thankful that our cat LOVES Harlee and LOVES to play with him, as Harlee loves it too!
  • I am thankful that our dogs love to mother him and love to play with him as well and share their kennel with him.
  • I am thankful that my husband is thoughtful enough to stop off at Costco and pick up dog food, for both dogs, without me having to ask him.
  • I am thankful that we were able to go to The Evan’s for dinner for Mr. Evan’s birthday.
  • I am thankful that Mr. Evans had a good birthday, as he deserves it after all the stress they’ve had these last couple months.
  • I am thankful that dishes were really easy this afternoon.
  • I am thankful that my husband was thoughtful enough to bring home dinner AND dessert this evening.
  • I am thankful for being able to afford to move to a place closer to Eugene.

So now that I am done.. how about you leave a comment with an answer to this question:

What’s ONE thing that you’re thankful for this week?

Here we go, continuing on our daily activities. I wanted to take a day out of every week to share a little bit about me, that you may not know. So for today, here is my story to share:

Friday night was our first experience trick or treating as adults. It was so much fun!!! Much more fun than trick or treating itself!! So here are a few pictures we have to show for it:

We hope you enjoyed your halloween!!!

Survey Saturday

Posted by: jsasnm on: October 31, 2008

I am trying to find daily activities to do on my blog, in hopes that it will motivate me enough to post everyday and stick with it. For today, Saturday, I choose to do a survey. Not those ridiculous ones you see on myspace everyday, over and over again, but one that does say a little bit about you, your inner core, your inner being.

So in lieu of it being Halloween today, I found one that is SUPER SIMPLE that just may tell you a bit about your halloween taste. So take the survey and let me know what it says about you!!

What Does Your Favorite Halloween Candy Say About You?

What Your Love of Peanut Butter Cups Says About You

You are hedonistic… sometimes to the point of being greedy. You love to eat, and there’s no chance you’re sharing your candy! While you may be greedy, it’s with good reason. You have great taste.

The things you love are worth loving, and it’s no wonder you crave them.

So please click the link, above, (^^^) Yep, right there, so we can learn a bit more about your halloween taste.

I hope you had a Happy Halloween.

Photo Friday With An Explination

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, my cat, CoCoa, is quite large. I don’t know how in the heck he got this large as we were told that he was full siamese when we got him (we rescued him). Although, with rescues, you never REALLY know where they came from, who they bred with, or what their past history is.

Here is our precious kitty the day we braught him home:

Here’s CoCoa compared to a LARGE male kitty. The two males next to him weighed in at 15 to 17 pounds EACH:
(yes, this is when they’re were in getting neutered – I volunteered at the same clinic)

And for some size comparison to a human, here’s me holding my kitty: I’m 5′2″ around 130:
(please excuse the lack of make up and the lack of hairstyle, my hair’s been doing something funny lately.)

The funny thing is that my vet says that he’s not an obese cat, he’s just extremely LARGE!!! lol.
You could say that I like large things. Here’s another large item that I own:

I don’t have a picture of me standing next to the truck but as I said before, I am 5′2″ and My head barely comes to the top of the grill. I can’t see on the hood, lol. It’s a Ford F-350 with a 8″ lift and 37″ tires. I LOVE it.

Thankful Thursday

Posted by: jsasnm on: October 29, 2008

I have been a little stressed lately. Not for any particular reason, rather a few all combined. I could name them off for you but that would ruin the purpose of this post. When I get down and out, I like to look at all the things that I should be thankful for, and while there are MANY, here are a few that I wanted to share with you.

(I’m not going to number them because I don’t want you to think that they’re in some kind of order, because they’re most certainly not.)

  • I am thankful for my husband, who truely does everything in his power to make me happy, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Or should I say 12 hours per day, 7 days a week. I would say 24 but I am sleeping 12 of those hours.. but then again, he does let me sleep and I am thankful for that, so I’ll just keep it at 24. :)
  • I am thankful for my beautiful home. A home that is being grown out of QUICKLY, but it’s managed to hold itself together this long and I am very greatful.
  • I am thankful for my husbands wonderful job. While sometimes it can be very frustrating and unforgiving, I am thankful that he loves it and is able to enjoy his career path.
  • I am thankful that my house didn’t burn completely in our house fire, while the insurance money would have been nice, I can only live in a small hotel for so long. It doesn’t seem like it would be a very fun “vacation”.
  • I am thankful for my two beautiful pups, in which I’d like to add one to that number. I am thankful that they’re VERY good girls even though there have been times when I’ve considered debarking them. :D At least I know I’ll be safe if someone does try to harm us. (picture of my girls below)
  • I am thankful for patches. The kind of patches that patch things, yes, that’s what I mean. The kind that you can iron on to your pants and in my case, the kind that hold your pants together when they’re falling apart. One pair has about 20 patch spots where holes have formed and needed to be covered so they could be warn without certain body parts hanging out, and I don’t mean my knee-caps. :P
  • I am thankful that we’re able to move to a house closer to my husband’s office as the 30 minute drive to and from work everyday, for the last year, seems to be taking a toll. Sometimes it’s even twice a day.
  • I am thankful for the people that are buying our house even though the economy is a crap shoot. They’re helping us in MORE ways than one and I am SOOOOOO thankful for it.
  • I am thankful for the Lord who has yet to turn his back on me even though I have to him over and over again. Thank you for believing in me even though I don’t know how (and am too stupid to figure it out) and for taking care of my family and myself when I have turned my back on thee and questioned my faith, time and time again.
  • I am thankful for every single second that I get to spend with my Punkin. She has completed our family and we hope that one day we can call her our own. Until then, we just get to enjoy the time that we DO get with her and soak up every second of every moment. She has braught so many things to our family and she means more to us than anything else. We’re so greatful that we’ve been able to have her for as long as we have.
  • I am thankful for my cat, and how he’s so independent and hilarious. How he communicates with us to tell us what he wants and how he acts SOOOO much like a dog. CoCoa, you’re the BEST kitty ever!
  • And as always, I am thankful for the Evans’, because I LOVE them and couldn’t leave them out of this list. You guys are WONDERFUL and I don’t know what I did or would do without you guys!! You make our life complete! You’re amazing in more ways than 50. LOL!! (I even told Hubz that if we moved up to eugene he’d have to calculate gas money down here at least twice per week that way I could get my “evans” fix, lol, and he said, “oh most definitely!!”.)

And for being so patient with my Thankful Thursday, I give to you:

Roxee Vom Titan – AKC registered German Shepherd Dog – AKA Roxee
(CoCoa is in the background.)
(and no, our dogs aren’t small, it’s our cat that’s big, more on that later.)

Kaydee Vom Titan - AKC Registered German Shepherd Dog – AKA Kaydee

They’re my girls. I love them a bunch! When we add our new addition, you know you’ll be seeing him here too.

Stephanie
